Intense Rains Affect Córdoba: Assistance Underway

The Government of Córdoba is providing assistance to the localidades affected by the intense rains and hail that occurred this Saturday. Among the affected areas are Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, Alpa Corral, and Villa del Dique.

The ministries of Government and Social Development, and Employment Promotion of the Province have been coordinating the aid, maintaining direct communication with the mayors and community leaders of the affected communities. As part of the measures taken, a total of 10 million pesos has been sent for the first stage of assistance.

The Secretariat for Climate Risk Management, Catastrophes, and Civil Protection of the Province has issued a warning regarding the rising levels of the mountain rivers, requesting tourists to take extra precautions. In Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, one of the hardest-hit areas by the phenomenon, a crisis committee has been established to coordinate the aid efforts.

The committee, led by local mayor Eduardo Martín, includes the participation of Civil Defense officials from the Province, DUAR, and firefighters. Provincial Civil Defense vehicles are also being deployed to assist in the area.
